  1. This semester I've definitely become a better writer! I thought I was a good writer before this class but I was mostly "telling" with my writing instead of "showing". I'm still striving to improve on this but I've gotten better. I've also gotten better at incorporating dialog in my writing. I understand now, that it is very important to give your characters voices.

Listening to other authors' pieces helped my writing--seeing what techniques, they used to make their articles engaging. I mostly went to Google and "The Balloon Lady" book. Also, the pieces read in class were a good help. The excercise we did most recently in class--I really liked. The one where we had a stack of papers and we had to get in a peaceful mood. Getting in that mood is really important for writing, so I thought that was a good activity.

Hope you have a good break!:)
